SEGA has announced a new Sonic the Hedgehog game called Sonic Superstars, which aims to redefine the classic high-speed 2D platforming experience. The game will take place on the North Star Islands, a mystical location with unique environments and an unfolding mystery. Players will control Sonic and his friends as they face off against massive creatures, embark on thrilling adventures, and thwart the evil plans of Dr. Eggman. Collecting Chaos Emeralds will grant the characters new abilities called Emerald Powers. Sonic Superstars is scheduled for release in Fall 2023, both digitally and physically, on various platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players must harness the Emerald Powers to confront Dr. Eggman and prevent him from transforming the island’s animals into badniks.
