  • Sonic Superstars Prelude Animation and Battle Mode!

New Animation “Sonic Superstars: Trio of Trouble”

Sega released a prelude animation to Sonic Superstars. It marks as Fang’s first debut in an animation.

While escorting Dr. Eggman and his hapless new helper Trip through a perilous ruin, Fang the Hunter will need to muster all his cunning to overcome past mistakes and escape the coils of a fierce new enemy. Meanwhile, Eggman discovers what may be the key to his next dastardly scheme.

    Battle Mode!

Sonic Superstars’ new Battle Mode feature allows players to compete online or locally in a variety of races, survival stages, and more, taking control of a customizable Metal Fighter. Players compete in three rounds of randomly selected battle stages, earning points according to their ranking in each round. The player with the most aggregate points wins.

    Battle Mode stages include:

    • Race: Reach the goal before the other players.
    • Zap Scrap: Shoot bullets to attack other players and earn points.
    • Star Snatcher: Collect stars within the time limit, losing a star if you take damage.
    • Survival: Stay on the stage until the end while avoiding cannonballs and collapsing scaffolding.

In online battles, players can earn Medals and use them to purchase custom parts for their Metal Fighter. Changing parts does not affect the Metal Fighter’s abilities.

Offline battle mode allows players to play single player against AI opponents or with up to three other players in split-screen mode. There are no Medals or Rank changes in offline mode.
