The Game Boy Advance has played host to a Megadrive classic of Sonic’s before, with the inclusion of Sonic Spinball in SEGA Smashpack. IGN has now announced a new release though, in the form of the very first Sonic The Hedgehog, remastered.Due for a November release in the States, and probably a December of January release in Europe, the game is being refitted to include Sonic’s spin dash move and a save feature. Doubtless this’ll be a controversial move, but with Wii’s Virtual Console aside this may one of the few ways to bring Sonic’s retro gaming style to a modern generation in a casual style, without the need for play endurance on a portable machine.
