  • Weekend News

Hello from me, with the news from this weekend. Today, release dates, hack threats, and Naomi 2.Samba 2000, PSO Release Dates: We’ve received word that Samba de Amigo 2000 is set for a December 14th release date in the arcades. But what’s more surprising is that Phantasy Star Online, which was coming in 2001, according to SOA President Peter Moore, is listed for a December 21, 2000 release date. Remember that PSO is set for a worldwide release, so this could be very good news!

Hack Threats: TSSZ, Shadow of Light, TLoB’s Sonic Site, the SFGHQ, and sites owned by Sierra Ranay have been threatened by a person only known as Bob Smiley. Many people have received threatening E-Mails from him via his now deleted Hotmail account. The hacker even stole SoL’s Sonique and my AIM Screen name, and potentially said offensive material in our names. We’ll keep you updated on the situation.

Naomi 2 Revealed: Sega’s new aracde board was revealed at the JAMMA 2000 show. The major difference between this Naomi board and the original is that Hardware Transform and Lighting is included, allowing the Naomi 2 to push ten million polygons per second. Naomi 2 can also play games in GD-ROM and masked ROM format, which could make for an easy and quick conversion from the arcade to the Dreamcast.

And that’s it for now, I’ll be back next week.
