In the Drakkon Empire the Leader of the House of Magic, sister Haggra, has called together the Master Scholar from the House of Learning and Emperor Ko-Door from the House of War (Who put Sonic on trial) to show them a vision that the Vapours of Destiny have given her. The image is clearly of Sonic, though Emperor Ko-Door doesn’t seem to recognise him, and Haggra claims he knows the secrets of the Chaos Emeralds. Back in the Emerald Hill Zone Sonic and Tails are smashing badniks sent by Robotnik to remind Sonic of his continued existence. Robotnik is showing Grimer more Metallixes that are being constructed when Emperor Ko-Door turns up telling him to keep his end of the bargain. He tells Robotnik he had to pretend not to know about Sonic in the meeting and he needs the Chaos Emeralds if he wants to rule over the other two Houses. After defeating the badniks Sonic and Tails see the Floating Island and start to talk about how the Chaos Emeralds are keeping it afloat when Sonic gets a sudden cold chill indicating that something terrible is about to happen…
