The first part of the adaption of Sonic The Hedgehog CD for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Amy Rose is arrested for mouthing off a fantasy of being Sonic's girlfriend within earshot of some troopers. Sonic and Johnny Lightfoot use a Star Post to follow her to Robotnik's Egg Fortress in the Special Zone – but when Sonic dashes right in without bothering about making a plan, they both get trapped by the automatic defense system of the fortress.
Meanwhile Robotnik has made himself a cocoon, deciding that it's time for a change…

The truth finally comes to light: Trogg is Shirob, driven to mutating and insanity by magical contact with the evil Dark One!
It looks as though the captured Tails and Errol, no matter how much they resist, will never reach home alive; but a portal to the Nameless Zone opens up just in time, and they dive through. Back at the palace of the Enchanter Kings, Tails expects Errol to reveal his guilty secret, but the other fox proclaims him to be a true champion (I think that's what's called getting a grade A for effort, if not ability), and he returns to Mobius with his reputation intact.
