Fleetway loves reminding us that Sonic wasn't always blue and that his speed was a result of an accident, so it turns out that Professor Neinstein created a machine capable of switching the accident before he died. Robotnik and Grimer ambush Sonic on his morning run and stick Sonic's powers into Robotnik. The result: A pathetic spiky brown hedgehog and a super fast fat blue Robotnik.

Fortunately when Badniks arrive they open fire on Robotnik mistaking him for Sonic, Grimer switches the settings and Sonic smashes the machine.

Knuckles returns from the events of `Robotnik`s Revenge` to find that an amusement park has mysteriously sprung up on the Floating Island. When he investigates, the Marxio Brothers appear, with a proposal…

Readers who expected Knuckles` entrance to follow up a suitably dramatic, enigmatic (and a few more -atics that I don`t feel like going into at the moment) opening story were suddenly confronted with some less than subtle apparent comic relief.
