"The Return of Chaotix – Part Five"
Writer: Nigel Kitching
Artist: Richard Elson

Another recap of the origin of his speed is finally enough to remind Sonic of the significance of the rotten egg – but in some impressive use of dramatic irony, he decides not to mention to the Chaotix exactly why he leaves the egg back in its place in the fridge and asks to be taken one day forward in time.

Given Sonic's normal tendency to monologue, you might expect a lot more dialogue and recapping during the scene where Sonic is revealed as ultimately responsible for creating his own nemesis – but it's all left to visuals and the reader's imagination until the angst sets in.

There's some consolation, as "Planet Metallix" has returned to normal and only the Miracle Planet remains under Metallix control – but Sonic and the Chaotix have a stop-off to make before that confrontation…

"The Graveyard – Part Three"
Writer: Nigel Kitching
Artist: Nigel Dobbyn

Knuckles makes a last ditch attempt to escape with a fresh emerald as the Kohenyu spirits close in – leading to a tense stand-off as he discovers the Soul Crystal keeping alive this last trace of the herd!

“Brute Force – Part Three”
Writer: Lew Stringer
Artist: Carl Flint

Johnny tricks Brutus` badniks into destroying Robotnik`s cotton factory and freeing its slaves. But before he can celebrate, he is grabbed by Brutus, who applies a mind scanner. This gives him not only the Freedom Fighters` secret identity as Bob Beaky`s Travelling Circus, but the location of the hidden Emerald Hill Folk on the Floating Island!
