While finding he can’t sleep one night Sonic stumbles across Charmy being kidnapped by a couple of other bees. The kidnappers turn out to be royal guards come to escort Charmy to his old home because he failed to keep a promise to the queen. As Charmy’s chosen friend Sonic goes with him to the hive. When they arrive Sonic asks what some of the worker bees are up to, so Charmy tells him that they’re making gold. While Sonic doubts this to be possible Charmy insists that the bees know how before they are ushered in front of an angry queen bee. Charmy apologises to his “mother” only to be grabbed by Sonic, who (In shock) demands to know if Charmy’s a prince. Charmy admits that he is a prince but says he doesn’t want the rest of the Chaotix to know because he doesn’t want to be treated differently by them. Though the queen demands that her son stays at the hive she is soon cut short by a guard informing her that an army of wasps led by Jesper is attacking them…

Filch has managed to install a Star Post into Captain Plunder’s ship, enabling the pirates to go anywhere they like. Their first stop is New Tek City to hunt down some new recruits. An unfortunate Professor Speckle happens to be out walking that night when some of the crew grab him (Worrying about going back to Plunder empty handed they decide even someone as scrawny looking as Speckle will do). The pirates shove him in the hold over night, which turns out to be a bad choice as he eats Plunder’s much loved chocolates that were also occupying the hold. He is soon made to walk the plank by a very angry Plunder. In the water he makes a quick attempt to get the stopper off his transforming serum, which leaks out into the water by mistake. Luckily for Speckle he manages to drink some, making him change into Mr. Fry, who wants revenge against the pirates.

Vermin has been purposely designed to be stronger then Shortfuse, so he quickly takes down him and Tails in battle before using the spike on his tail to inject a virus into Shortfuse’s system. Though Johnny tries to make up for the slack he also fails until Amy manages to out-smart Vermin by firing at one of the gum fruits in the trees. The corrosive liquid from the fruit starts to melt Vermin’s armour forcing him to retreat. The gang take Shortfuse back to Tekno’s lab to get him repaired, which means he’ll be out of action for a while. But the angered Shortfuse assures them that when he has a rematch against Vermin the outcome will be different.
