  • Chaos Emerald Theories

Theories about chaos emerald properties, based on their different depictions in the games.

Nytloc here, I have been a long time Sonic fanatic. I have just recently came up with enough courage to send this e-mail for everyone to read. I have reason to beleive that the Chaos and Super Emeralds are one in the same. I will use suggestions from many of the games in this article.

    Sonic 3, and Knuckles:

Facts: In Sonic 3 and Knuckles when Sonic enters the Hidden Palace Zone (HPZ), the Chaos Emeralds swirl around Sonic. They then fly to the ceiling, out of the screen's view. Seven lines, each having equal colors with the Chaos Emeralds that flew up to the ceiling, fly to the pedestals, leaving the powerless forms of the Super Emeralds. If you obtain all of the energy of the Super Emeralds the Master Emerald begins to glow. I beleive that this is a state of balance. The Master Emerald gives power to the Super Emeralds, and the Super Emeralds give power to the Master Emerald.

Theories: What if, when Sonic releases the Chaos Emeralds, it is Emeralds that land on the pedestals. The colors match and I see no reason why they would simply stay by the ceiling. Why do you ask do I think it happens in the HPZ, but no were else? There is one major difference. The Master Emerald. Perhaps the Master Emerald can not only deplete the energy of the Chaos Emeralds, like in Sonic Adventure 2, but augment their powers as well. Example: You place all Chaos Emeralds near the Master Emerald, the Chaos Emeralds obtain more power, making Super Emeralds. Due to the fact that the Master

    Sonic Adventure:

Facts: In the past scenes of Sonic Adventure, the points where Tikal takes you to the past, You see the Chaos Emeralds, placed on stone pillars. If you look closely, they are much larger than they should be, though not quite as large as Super Emeralds. They are also close to the Master Emerald, though not quite as close as in Sonic 3 and Knuckles. In the current time they are normal size, they can fit in the palm of your hand.

Theories: Perhaps, due to the fact that the Chaos Emeralds are near the Master Emerald, they are in a state between Chaos Emeralds and Super Emeralds. They are not as big because they are further away from the mighty stone. Why, you ask, are the Chaos Emeralds not bigger on Super Sonic's storyline? Simple, not ALL of the Chaos Emeralds are there. One of them is still on the Tornado, being used as fuel for the eingine. Maybe ALL of the Chaos Emeralds need to be there to become Super Emeralds.

    Sonic Adventure 2:

Facts: In the final story of Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic and Shadow use the Chaos Emeralds to transform into their Super Forms. No other Sonic game has had this happen. Only one at a time has happened before. The Master Emerald is used, beforehand, to lower the Chaos Emeralds, so Sonic and Knuckles can take the Emeralds out of the Eclipse Cannon. The Master Emerald is surely still in the area when Sonic and Shadow power up. Maybe the Master Emerald is powering up the Choas Emeralds, making two Super Forms attainable. I am sure the Master Emerald did not just get up and walk away. =P

Theories: Maybe the Master Emerald is powering up the Choas Emeralds, making two Super Forms attainable. If you look real closely, the Chaos Emeralds seem to be a bit bigger. Hyper Form is not attainable because: A. The Choas Emeralds have not gained enough power yet. And/or B. They need 2 people, one to fight the Final Hazard and another to get rings at the space colony, since there are no rings near the space of ARK.

    Sonic Heroes:

Facts: In Sonic Heroes, the last Storyline, Sonic has the Chaos Emeralds fly around his body. This transform him into Super Sonic. A blast of heat nearly fries Tails, who is standing nearby. Insted, a gold, yellow barrier surrounds Tails. This is not Super Tails. Super Tails has flickies flying around him, flashes gold, and no barrier. The same happens to Knuckles. This is not his Super Form either. His Super Form has no barrier, and he flashes red, to white, to pink.

Theories: I beleive that Super Sonic is carrying them, using the Chaos Energy stored inside his body. If the Master Emerald had nothing to do with the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic Adventure 2, why is there not two Super Forms carrying a non-super form? I mean the Choas Emeralds should be able to power two Super Forms, Master Emerald or not.

Nytloc. Long live Sonic… What would we do without him?
