Sonic: Battle For Station Square is one of the more unique titles to appear at SAGE 2018. It is a spoof of the Spongebob Squarepants video game called Battle For Bikini Bottom, which is known as one of the best licensed titles to ever come out on gaming counsels. Sonic: Battle For Station Square takes all the elements from Battle For Bikini Bottom, and replaces all the characters with Sonic characters, all the environments with locations in the Sonic universe, and all other aspects of the original game.
If you are looking for a fast paced 2D side scroller like the traditional Sonic game, you better look elsewhere! BFSS is a collect-a-thon with elements of a Sonic game. But it is not a fast paced adventure and this is a clear distinction players will immediately notice. For those who are fans of Battle For Bikini Bottom, BFSS can provide a lot of great laughs just seeing Sonic characters speak the lines of characters in the original game. For players not familiar with the original game, BFSS is a solid collect-a-thon that encourages exploration.
