An "industry insider" has given a site called "GameCube Deluxe" similar info to what we reported several days ago.
This doesn't *PROVE* the rumor, but unless GameCube Deluxe reads this site or got it from the same insider who tipped off Zifei (a developer who has given Zifei info in the past), then that Naka camera boast ("the best camera system ever seen in any platformer ever") is hard to dismiss as a coincidence.

Chaotix Beta Greenboard & Screenshot
The URL to this site was posted here by someone named "Pokr." It's well-known that Mighty's sprites in Chaotix were edited from Sonic sprites. Well, this site says that Sonic was supposed to be in Chaotix all along. Normally, I'd dismiss this as a hoax, because some elements of what's claimed on the site don't seem very credible (and I doubt the game would say "featuring Knuckles The Echidna" if Sonic was in it, or have the U.S. Sega slogan in a beta version), but that screenshot is rather convincing. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide.
In case you saw the Sonic Advance 2 screenshots here, they've been revealed as a hoax by the person who made them. It's actually a working fan game designed as a hoax.
Zifei just sent me this info over IM but I was away at the time and couldn't get more details. I'll try to find out more ASAP.
- The game's playable characters are Sonic, Shadow, Tails, & Knuckles. All stages will be optimized for Sonic and Shadow. Tails and Knuckes will use these stages in their respective unique ways.
- Next step in camera system evolution or as Naka-san bluntly put it: "The best camera system ever seen in any platformer ever."
- GameCube and X-Box.
How do you make a sequel to a game that can't possibly be improved? Simple: you trim it down.
That's right people. According to this IGN article that Knuckles Dawson was so kind as to point out to me (thereby giving me an excuse to put off my history homework for a few more minutes), it's happened. Sonic Team has made a new NiGHTS into Dreams game for the Game Boy Advance.
Apparently, the new game NiGHTS into Dreams: Score Attack is a condensed version of the original game (obviously focused on high scoring as opposed to anything else), transforming the world into a fully believable 2-D environment with a scrolling bitmap background.
Though I'd still prefer to see a graphically enhanced remake, this is definitely music to my ears. Watch the video. Die happy.

Sonic & Shadow - GBA
Chao Racing - GBA
NOTE: These titles were supposedly "leaked" by someone named "Toad." In other words, this should be considered very much a rumor and not taken seriously at all as official release info.
Thanks to Sonic, Sega Sports, and no more hardware, Sega is recovering nicely.

Gamers.com posted this tidbit about the SEGA shareholders meeting, with some other information.
The Skies of Arcadia port has been cancelled for PS2, but is still headed for GameCube.
A new Sonic anime series (apparently not an OAV) is being developed by SEGA!
This appears interesting...
Earlier today, Sega held an annual shareholder meeting, in which Tetsua Kayama, Sega Corp's COO, shed some light on some exciting new bits of information and announcements. Sega fans will undoubtedly be quite delighted. The highlights are as follows:
A brand new Sonic the Hedgehog is in development and will launch next year. An entirely new title. No platform mentioned.
A new Shining Force game is in the works. No system was mentioned.
A soccer simulation is finally expected to join the Sega Sports brand.
A new Sega Rally title coming soon, but oddly enough, no platform mentioned.
Sega Sports is going to try and launch their titles on the same day EA does, on all systems.
A new game based on Virtua Fighter 4 has been announced, entitled 'Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution', for arcades. It will be shown off at the arcade show on une 11th, will feature 'network capabilities', and will be released in August. The arcade hardware which it is running on, was not announced.
The House of the Dead series will evolve into a 'horror adventure' series, and continue after this year's release of House of the Dead III for the Xbox.
Sega is working on new arcade boards based on both the PlayStation 2 and XBox (code named Chiro), as well as the GameCube powered Triforce.
Stay tuned for even more exciting Sega news, once the E3 begins next week.
