Sonic the Comic has reached its fifteen anniversary - as well as Sonic the Comic Online's 5th and Nigel Kitching's birthday! To celebrate, Sonic the Comic Online has released a special with multiple posters, a new strip and randomly-loading variant covers.
Meanwhile, grand old Humes Nigel Kitching, Richard Elson, Nigel Dobbyn and Mick McMahon are currently involved in the independent title Bulletproof. Elson's art also appears in this week's Judge Dredd strip in 2000AD (and regularly in 2000AD), while Lew Stringer continues working for Viz, Toxic! and Image's Elephantmen. Former script Hume Mark Millar and editor Andy Diggle... well, you can those ones out for yourself, boomers!

It's confirmed by Sega Europe, Sonic will be returning to all the Next-Gen consoles (and PlayStation 2) with a new game.
Titled Sonic Unleashed, the released (and previously leaked) screenshots and video show promise, similar to the teasers for the ill-fated Sonic The Hedgehog (also known as Sonic Next-Gen), you get a familiar feel of Sonics' recent Nintendo DS games, which have been quite successful, as the game is often viewed side on, a sort of 2D view of 3D, and demonstrates a full on running session through the majority of the level shown. At times the view switches to behind Sonic, and you continue to guide him, this view of the action reminiscent of Sonic Wildfire on the Nintendo Wii.
Knuckles is dead, slain by the monstrous Vichama - can Tikal do anything to avert the apocalypse? Meanwhile, Tekno and Short make their long awaited return; and a mysterious villain threatens Mobius with chemical warfare! All this and a review of the new Nights game!

Nintendo Power magazine has a big cover feature on Bioware's eagerly awaited Sonic RPG for the Nintendo DS, which is now titled Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. There are 11 playable characters, with Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow and Big the Cat being the ones already known. Eggman/Robotnik will be in it, but not as the main villain (supposedly).
Bioware, if you don't already know, are the talented creators of Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect amongst others, and are well known for never having made a game that was less than a classic - Sonic's in very capable hands with them.
