I was just wondering if there was any definite proof that this (Sonic Crackers) is indeed a "true" Sonic game and not just some hoax? The date on the title screen is 19940401 (1st April 1994), perhaps an April fools joke? Another note is that the sprites are quite clearly from Sonic 2, yet Sonic 3 was released February 2, 1994. Surely they would use the most up to date artwork? The last point is that the ROM Header clearly spells it wrong "Sonic Studium".
Granted all of the points made could be taken either way by opinion, I was however looking for some definite facts as I have so far been unable to find. If this is a "true" Sonic game, who released it, when was it released, and what was the development process that lead it to be cancelled and re-branded as Knuckles Chaotix?

According to Diamond Comics, Archie's Sonic X #3 is on sale in comic shops starting today.
Also, Joe Edkin, the writer of Archie's Sonic X series, is planning on sending 5 people a signed copy of Sonic X #1. The info about the offer as posted on the message board is copied below.
It seems as though there will be a triple hedgehog attack as the combo pack of Sonic Advance and Sonic Pinball Party is available as well. Both games can link up to Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut.
Stores will be invaded by a double hedgehog attack. Sonic Rush has hit the stores for the Nintendo DS and Shadow the Hedgehog, a spinoff based on Sonic's dark rival, is available as well for Gamecube, Playstation 2, and Xbox.
The english Shadow the Hedgehog website has gotten a huge update including more stages, wall papers, and icons.
