An update to last year’s classic collection brings new characters and extra games.
Following in the footsteps of Sonic Mania, a new Plus edition of Sonic Origins is coming in around the corner. This update brings a platter of new features, including:
- Playable Amy (with hammer) in all 4 games!
- Playable Knuckles in Sonic CD! (Finally)
- Emulations of all 12 Sonic games released for the Sega Game Gear
- The “Music Pack” and “Fun Pack” from the previous DLC

Sonic Origins Plus will release on June 23, 2023. A physical edition with a 20-page art book will also be available for Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox. It seems the full price will be $40, while previous owners of Origins can purchase the “Plus Expansion Pack” for $10.
