According to Diamond Comics, Archie's Sonic The Hedgehog #172 is out today.

The ArchieSonic team has done a special comic book/DVD tie-in with the Sonic Wii game. The catch? It's only at Target.

Sonic writer Ian Flynn has announced on his forum that people who buy Sonic and the Secret Rings from Target stores will get a special comic promotional.

"An international committee of human geneticists recently voted to change the names of a few human genes because the current, sometimes flamboyant names—like Sonic hedgehog—are either offensive or embarrassing. Other genes earmarked for a name change include lunatic fringe, radical fringe, manic fringe, and Indian hedgehog. The vote was conducted by the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee, which establishes naming protocols for human genes..."

Wasn't it kind of cool how Sonic had a gene named after him? I mean, a gene in the actual human genome! Well, that's no more. Show's over, folks.
